We held an Unconference!

(and next one is coming soon, no need for FOMO parts)

We held our third online Parts Work Unconference, the biggest and smoothest so far.

It was amazing, and we are thankful to everyone that showed up, contributed, and participated.

Don’t take our word for it:

I attended this event, having no idea what to expect. I left this event feeling totally inspired, in awe, and uplifted by the power of community. Deeply grateful that I attended and I intend to continue coming for years to come!

The Unconference was a surprise for me. I didn't know what to expect. For me it was an inspiring, creative, rewarding way to connect, to create and to work together, to be together. I learned a lot, both by giving and by participating in sessions. Very welcoming energy to share skills, insights and experiences. It was a great joy, it was a gift.

My parts have been in a 2-3 year deficit for intimate, humane, safe, self-aware, self-responsible conversations. The pandemic (and the often harshness of the internet) have engendered conversations that can feel the opposite to these. Here, I talked and listened, and felt commonality, warmth, belonging. So thankful for this deep nourishment. Attending will be a priority now.

So we are having another one on the 18th of March, in less than a month (depending on when you read this).

Join us! And if you know someone that could be interested, let them know.

What is an Unconference?

It is a participatory event based on the Open Space Technology, bringing together participants sharing about IFS and other Parts Work related practices.

We believe that a community of practice is of primary importance, and we love this system that allows people to connect, share what they have learned, and connect with others sharing similar interests, passions, practices, and, let’s be honest with it, challenges.

Some participants described it like this:

A place where people want to gather to speak for their parts, allow parts to decompress, learn, and resonate with other parts like themselves. A place where we can practice what it feels like to find and live from Self -and Self-led parts- while in the company of others attempting to do the same.

A welcoming, open, heart-centred and non-judgemental space for people from different backgrounds, abilities and cultures to share their knowledge and experiences of using the Internal Family Systems model to process personal and collective adverse life events.

The IFS Collective Unconference, similar in structure to open space technology and task parties, gathers a group of people who want to explore IFS and invites them to host sessions based on areas of interest, curiosity, or expertise. The sessions are spread over 4 time bands with a possibility of 52 sessions, both open and closed. The “session marketplace” evolves organically as the day unfolds, with participants choosing freely how and where they want to engage.

What happened and who came?

Some numbers:

353 participants thad signed up, many of which experienced practitioners.

The participants proposed a grand total of 32(!) different 40 minutes long sessions (some were the same session stretching 2 time blocks), spread in 4 time blocks.

Some examples of sessions from our last unconference:

  • Align your life: coaching protectors by Alex

  • Doing IFS solo and peer-to-peer by Pau

  • Introduction to Legacy Burdens by Beata

  • Authentic relating, human connection & IFS by Vicky

  • IFS & Grief by Anja

  • Parts Dance Party by Sid

An example of a the schedule for a single slot of time is, from the living schedule that was filled during the event itself.

The next Parts Work Unconference is in less than a month!

Get your (free) ticket here.

If you want, spread the word.

Get in touch if you want to support us in any other way.

There is also a quite active Telegram group, where you can discuss what emerged from the Unconference, and connect with other practitioners.

If you want to propose a session in advance, so that we can advertise it in our channels, please do it here.

(As usual: it is not required, most of the sessions emerge during the event itself. It helps up letting people know a bit what to expect)

Who are we, and why are we doing this?

We are Pau (IFS practitioner) and Alex (IFS informed coach): together, we created the IFS Collective to share our passion for IFS and related practices, enable other people to share, learn, and connect.

We love IFS as living practice, and we are fascinated by how other people use it in their everyday lives and practices.

If you are interested in working with us 1-1, you can book one of us (or just send us an email).
